Jardín Japonés in Buenos Aires’ Palermo neighborhood is one of the largest and most beautiful Japanese gardens outside of Japan—a tranquil oasis nestled within the expansive Parque Tres de Febrero.
Created and inaugurated in 1967 to honor a visit by then-Crown Prince Akihito and Princess Michiko, the garden showcases classic Japanese landscape design with graceful bridges, koi-filled ponds, traditional lanterns, and meticulously tended plantings that evoke harmony and balance.
It also features a cultural center, tea house and restaurant, bonsai nursery, and regular cultural events, offering visitors a peaceful retreat and a vivid taste of Japanese culture in the heart of Argentina’s capital.
